BURLEY, Idaho (AP) — This is a busy time of year for Idaho farmers who are putting in crops and setting up irrigation systems. They say delays in water delivery, broken pipes and clogged culverts can take a while to resolve. But farmers are saying that weather and planting conditions have been fantastic so far this season. Corn and beets are in the ground and farmers say that things have been smooth so far.

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (AP) — The newly dedicated Energy Innovation Center at Idaho National Laboratory's desert site is a prime example of energy efficiency in itself. The three- building facility is one of only six U.S. Department of Energy facilities nationwide to receive a Platinum LEED certification. The LEED program rates "green buildings" based on sustainable development, water savings, energy efficiency, material and resource selection and indoor environmental quality.

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — A judge has approved a Boise woman's adoption of two sons. Darcy Simpson won an Idaho Supreme Court decision that said second-parent adoptions by gay couples are legal despite the state's ban on same-sex marriage. Simpson's partner, Rene, is the birth mother of one boy and the original adoptive parent of the second. The couple married in California last year.

HANSEN, Idaho (AP) — The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is evaluating proposed sites for a national veterans cemetery in south-central Idaho. Idaho has a State Veterans Cemetery in Boise and there are a few privately operated veterans cemeteries, but no national veterans cemeteries in Idaho. Two years ago, the VA announced a plan to build National Veterans Burial Grounds in rural areas.
