OPAL, Wyo. (AP) — Residents and emergency crews are waiting for a fire to burn itself out after an explosion at a natural gas processing plant in southwestern Wyoming. No injuries were reported in the explosion Wednesday in Opal, a town of 95 people about 145 miles northeast of Salt Lake City. The entire town was evacuated. No one was injured.
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — The Utah Better Business Bureau is accusing a charity of raising about half a million dollars for breast cancer patients but using less than ten percent for that purpose. The office says the Cancer Fund of America in 2012 raised the money for prostheses, bras and other items for women fighting the disease. It says the charity also known as the Breast Cancer Financial Assistance Fund gave eight percent to patients and kept the rest. The fund could not be reached for comment.
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A man who was shot dead by a U.S. marshal while attacking a witness during a federal trial in Salt Lake City promised the judge at the start of the hearing that he'd behave. A transcript of Monday's hearing shows that Judge Tena Campbell asked Siale Angilau if he would be on his best behavior at the start of his jury trial. The 25-year-old Angilau responded, "Yeah."
WINDOW ROCK, Ariz. (AP) — Former Navajo Nation Attorney General Levon Henry has been named the top legal counsel for the tribe's legislative branch. The position has been vacant since January 2011 after the tribe's Supreme Court disbarred former legislative counsel Frank Seanez for advising lawmakers to defy court orders.
