TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — Florida school districts are resuming testing after a computer glitch prevented thousands of students from taking the state's standardized assessment.
The Department of Education reports working with testing contractor Pearson throughout Monday night and Tuesday morning to resolve the issue. The department says Pearson corrected a problem causing Internet service disruptions and is working with another provider to minimize any further delays.
Twenty-six Florida school districts reported problems Monday as students went to take the computer-based version of the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test. Some students were unable to log on, while others received an error message after completing the test.
The state's largest teachers union and others said the glitch should raise concerns about whether the state is ready to transition to a new test as scheduled in 2015.
