SANAA, Yemen (AP) — The president of Yemen says this week's military campaign against al-Qaida killed more than 60 suspected militants, including several of the group's leaders. His remarks were aired on state TV as security officials said authorities are examining DNA samples of the dead to determine their identities. Yemen's military hit a major al-Qaida base in southern Yemen on Sunday and Monday, reportedly backed by U.S. drone strikes. The assault appeared to be a significant escalation in the campaign against al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Supreme Court has thrown out a nearly $3.4 million judgment in favor of a woman whose childhood rape has been widely seen on the Internet. The court says federal law limits how much money victims of child pornography can recover from people who viewed their images online. The 5-4 ruling says courts can order people convicted of child pornography to pay restitution to their victims, but only to the extent that there is a strong tie between the victim's losses and the convicts' actions.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — A woman facing charges in the kidnapping of a North Carolina prosecutor's father has turned herself in to authorities. The FBI says Patricia Kramer surrendered to the FBI in Atlanta this morning. She is one of nine people indicted yesterday in the April 5 kidnapping of Frank Janssen. Authorities say the kidnapping was retaliation for Janssen's daughter's prosecution of a high-ranking member of the Bloods gang.

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. (AP) — Spacewalking astronauts have replaced a dead computer outside the International Space Station. Americans Rick Mastracchio (muh-STRAK'-ee-oh) and Steven Swanson hustled through the urgent repair job and swapped out the computers well within an hour. The new one tested fine. The unit they replaced was a backup computer that failed nearly two weeks ago.

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. (AP) — Google's digital maps are now offering trips down memory lane. Starting today, Google's "Street View" snapshots will include an option to see what neighborhoods and landmarks looked like at different periods in the past. So far, they only go back seven years, but some of them illustrate dramatic changes, such as the gradual recovery of New Orleans neighborhoods following Hurricane Katrina.
