ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) — A legislative task force is continuing its review of ways to address the rise in heroin and opioid abuse.
The group is scheduled to hold a forum Tuesday at the Monroe County Office Building in Rochester. It's the second of 12 such events planned throughout the state. Another forum is planned for Tuesday night in Utica.
The bipartisan Senate task force was created to study the rise in opiate abuse and recommend better treatment and prevention programs.
The task force is chaired by Republican Sen. Phil Boyle, who leads the Senate Committee on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse.
