SLOVYANSK, Ukraine (AP) — Ukraine is vowing to use military force to make sure that what happened in Crimea isn't repeated in areas of eastern Ukraine where pro-Russian militias have taken over government buildings. The country's president has told Ukrainians in a TV address that the government is launching a "large-scale anti-terrorist operation" to resist attacks from pro-Russian forces.

MOSCOW (AP) — More than 10,000 people have turned out in Moscow today for an anti-Kremlin rally. They denounced Russian state TV's news coverage, particularly of the crisis in neighboring Ukraine. State TV has portrayed the new pro-Western government in Ukraine as a "fascist junta" under the control of the U.S. government.

KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) — Two clear front-runners have emerged in Afghanistan's presidential election. Partial results show a tight race between President Hamid Karzai's closest rival in the last vote and a former World Bank official. Officials say the vote count could change -- but the early numbers suggest that none of the eight candidates is likely to get the outright majority needed to avoid a runoff.

VERACRUZ, Mexico (AP) — At least 36 people are now reported dead after a passenger bus struck a broken-down truck in southern Mexico and burst into flames early today. The federal highway department says four others were hurt in the crash in the southeastern state of Veracruz.

AUGUSTA, Ga. (AP) — Bubba Watson is going for his second green jacket, while 20-year-old Jordan Spieth (speeth) is trying to become the youngest Major champion in 83 years in today's final round of the Masters in Augusta, Georgia. Seven other players started the day within three shots of the lead. That includes 50-year-old Miguel Angel Jimenez, two strokes behind and looking to become the oldest major champion ever.
