Hermann parochial school students places in National poster contest

The Gasconade County Soil and Water Conservation District (GCSWCD) has announced that Brenna Jones, of St. George School, has placed second in the 4th-6th Grade Division of the National Association of Conservation District's Annual Poster Contest.

This is the first time that the District has had a National Winner.

Brenna participated in the GCSWCD 2013 Annual Poster Contest with the theme, "Where Does Your Water Shed?"

After placing first in her 6th Grade Level, she was selected to represent the district at the state level competition for the 4th-6th Grade Division.

Jones and Calista LeBrell, also a St. George student, placed first in their respective grade levels at the state competition in December of 2013. Their posters were then sent on to the National competition, which was held at the end of January.

All of the National Winner Posters can be seen on the web at: http://www.nacdnet.org/education/contests/poster/2013.

The GCSWCD presented Brenna with her National Award at its 2014 annual meeting, which was held on March 27 at the Owensville Middle School.
