Embraco Introduces New "Wisemotion" Compressor Technology
ATLANTA, April 8, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Embraco, world
market leader in hermetic compressors for refrigeration, today
launched its new WISEMOTION technology, the first oil-free compressor
for residential applications.
"With WISEMOTION, we're revolutionizing the refrigeration industry,
making it possible to develop the refrigerator of the future," said
Roberto H. Campos, President of Embraco. "This innovation will expand
the possibilities in designing new refrigerators - from format to
additional smart features."
WISEMOTION compressor technology achieves benefits such as reduced
energy costs, improved food conservation, better use of space inside
the refrigerator and lower sound. The reduction in energy consumption
can reach more than 20 percent when compared to the most
commercialized high efficiency compressors in the world market.
"WISEMOTION also innovates in the use of the latest generation of
materials and new coatings applied to its mechanical parts, which
enables its operation without the use of oil," said Fabio Klein,
Research & Development Director, Embraco.
WISEMOTION's benefits
-- Cold that preserves -- With WISEMOTION it is possible to obtain
minimal temperature differences inside the refrigerator. For the
consumer, this benefit contributes to reducing food waste, as it
maintains the precise temperature for maximum preservation of
products.
-- Silent -- WISEMOTION brings the most modern and innovative
solutions in sound control; the usual 'on and off' noise of
traditional refrigerators is imperceptible.
-- Energy savings -- WISEMOTION has the highest energy efficiency
levels. If applied today, it could have energy savings of over 20
percent in refrigeration systems when compared to the most
commercialized compressors in the global market.
-- Compact and eco-friendly -- WISEMOTION is about 3.94 inches lower
and uses approximately 50 percent less raw material than conventional
compressors. It's also more economical with respect to the refrigerant
charge by approximately 20 percent when compared to traditional
equipment.
-- Versatile -- Compressors using oil-free technology can be installed
in different locations within the refrigeration system. This allows
the creation of refrigerators' cabinet design beyond the traditional
rectangular shape.
How does it work? WISEMOTION is designed using smart electronics and
mechanical parts coated with a technology capable of eliminating the
use of lubricating oils in the equipment. The refrigerant gas has the
roles to both cool and lubricate the system's friction points.
