WASHINGTON (AP) — The Labor Department says the economy has reached a milestone. Businesses and nonprofits have regained all of the 8.8 million jobs shed during the 2007-09 recession. Employers added 192,000 jobs last month. The jobless rate remained at 6.7 percent.

FORT HOOD, Texas (AP) — The commanding officer at Fort Hood says the mental condition of the man who fatally shot three fellow soldiers this week and injured 16 others was not the "direct precipitating factor" in the shooting. Lt. Gen. Mark Milley says Ivan (ee-VAHN') Lopez's mental condition appeared to be an underlying factor. Milley said today that Lopez had an "escalating argument."

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — A longtime aide to New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie has given testimony to a federal grand jury investigating politically motivated traffic jams near the George Washington Bridge. But a lawyer for Michael Drewniak told ABC News his client is not a target. Former Christie aides allegedly ordered the closing of two traffic lanes near the bridge, resulting in gridlock in the nearby town of Fort Lee to retaliate against the mayor for not endorsing Christie in his November re-election bid.

NEW YORK (AP) — Three New York men prosecutors say were inspired by the Ben Affleck movie "The Town" have been sentenced to 32 years in prison each. The state says the three stole more than $200,000 from a Queens cash-checking business. The three, who are black, wore special-effects masks that made them appear white. Prosecutors say that just like in the movie, the men poured bleach on the scene and stalked employees and told them details of their lives.

There have been as many as 200 cases of the virus -- chikungunya -- since it was detected March 22. Symptoms include fever, rash, fatigue and intense muscle and joint pain.
