At Bland Tree Experts the focus is 100 percent on tree care. They can help with everything from trimming trees to removing them in the best possible way. They operate with a strong sense of responsibility by recycling wood, so very few, if any, of their trees get put in the landfill. This is important since every year we waste around 200 million trees from urban forest that are cut down, many to be buried in a landfill, which is why recycling is such an important focus for the folks at Bland Tree Experts.
Greg's parents Hershall and Bernetha Bland established the company almost 75 years ago. That makes Bland Tree Experts one of the oldest tree businesses in the state. Greg and his wife, Terry, an important supporter of the business, have really taken Bland Tree Experts to the next level. For Greg's mother and father it was a mom ‘n pop shop with a small clientele.
So, when Greg took over, they brought in the most modern and up-to-date equipment, got their ISA certification so they could inspect trees and decided to emphasize safety above all else. It's an important investment so they can keep their employees safe on every job. With Greg's sons Jeremy and Jason Bland taking over the business, the company is now entering its third generation of family ownership. And the transition is going well.
Greg says at Bland Tree Experts they like specializing, so they keep their focus strictly on tree care. They have companies they recommend for other aspects of tree care. However, Greg feels they have the most expertise, and they're always finding ways to improve their operation.
