WASHINGTON (AP) — More than one and a half million people have visited HealthCare.gov just ahead of tonight's deadline to apply for health insurance. The crush has strained the website at times, creating delays and other glitches. The Obama administration announced last week that people who begin the registration process by midnight would get extra time to enroll. There have also been long lines at registration sites. At Chicago's Norwegian American Hospital, people began lining up shortly after 7 a.m. to get help signing up for subsidized private health insurance.

PERTH, Australia (AP) — Nine ships and 10 planes are set to take part in Tuesday's search for the Malaysian airliner missing for more than three weeks. Items recovered so far have turned out to be flotsam unrelated to the plane. Search conditions won't be favorable. Forecasters say Tuesday's weather will be poor and visibility will be limited.

SIMFEROPOL, Crimea (AP) —Russia says it's pulling a battalion of several hundred troops away from the Ukrainian border, but it's keeping tens of thousands in place. The U.S. warns that there is still a "tremendous buildup." Moscow isn't wasting any time forging better ties to the portion of Ukraine it annexed. Russia's prime minister has promised Crimea that residents will receive a list of goodies including improved power supplies and pensions for the elderly.

WASHINGTON (AP) —A Washington D.C., police official says a body found in a park in the nation's capital has been tentatively identified by police as a murder suspect who was the last person seen with a missing 8-year-old girl. Kahlil Tatum apparently killed himself. He was a janitor at a homeless shelter where the girl had been living with her family. Relisha Rudd was last seen March 1 in Tatum's company. His wife was found dead March 20 at a motel in suburban Maryland.

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (AP) — Long lottery odds apparently don't apply to a Virginia couple. The Virginia Lottery says Calvin and Zatera Spencer of Portsmouth claimed a prize last week -- a $1 million scratch-off. The Spencers won $1 million in the March 12 Powerball drawing, matching the first five numbers but missing the Powerball number. On Wednesday, Calvin Spencer also won $50,000 in the Virginia Lottery's Pick 4 game with 10 tickets that had the same winning combination of 6-6-6-6.
