PERTH, Australia (AP) — Dozens of relatives of the passengers aboard Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 when it disappeared three weeks ago are planning to fly from Beijing to Kuala Lumpur on Sunday to seek answers from Malaysia's government as to what happened to their loved ones. Two-thirds of the 229 passengers aboard the missing jet were Chinese.
PERTH, Australia (AP) — Officials say a second day of searching in a new area of the Indian Ocean has produced no evidence of the missing Malaysian jetliner. A Chinese military plane did spot several objects floating in the sea, including two bearing colors of the missing jet. But it's not yet clear whether they or other debris plucked from the sea on Saturday are from the missing plane.
LOS ANGELES (AP) — No injuries are reported from a moderate earthquake and the more than 100 aftershocks that have rattled parts of Southern California since last night. The largest aftershock happened this afternoon. It was a magnitude 4.1. More than 80 people in Fullerton were evacuated after last night's magnitude- 5.1 quake which was centered about 25 miles south of Los Angeles.
DARRINGTON, Wash. (AP) — Authorities say they've found at least 25 bodies buried in the muck and debris of a mudslide that destroyed a neighborhood in rural Washington state. Crews who are continuing the search for more victims halted their work today for a moment of silence to honor those lost a week ago. Authorities say 90 people are still missing in the town of Oso, northeast of Seattle.
WASHINGTON (AP) — A new group of experimental medicines can dramatically lower cholesterol. That's raising hopes of a fresh option for people who can't tolerate or don't get enough help from Lipitor and other statin drugs. The first large studies of the new drugs were presented today at an American College of Cardiology conference in Washington.
