FULL NAME: Gregory J. Brannon.

EARLY YEARS: Born Aug. 17, 1960 in Inglewood, Calif.

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree, University of Southern California, 1982; medical degree, Chicago Medical School, 1988; completed residency at University of Southern California Women's Hospital, Los Angeles, 1992.

OCCUPATION: Board certified obstetrician/gynecologist at Brannon OB/GYN, Cary.

PREVIOUS CAREER: assistant professor of obstetrics and gynecology, University of North Carolina School of Medicine, with work at Wake Area Health Education Center. Started private practice in 1993.

FAMILY: Wife, Jody. Seven children ages four to 23. Three are adopted.
