BODY FOUND-BOISE

Man's body found in Boise parking lot

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Boise police are investigating after the discovery of a man's body in an apartment complex parking lot.

Police spokeswoman Lynn Hightower says authorities received a report about 8:15 p.m. Saturday.

She says the man is believed to be in his 50s. The cause of death is being investigated.

The apartment complex is in the neighborhood northwest of North Five Mile Road and West Fairview Avenue.

The man's name hasn't been released.

SCHOOL LEVY-KUNA

Kuna School District to try levy vote again in May

KUNA, Idaho (AP) — Kuna School District officials have approved asking voters for a $3.19 million supplemental levy in May.

The school board approved the plan on a 3-2 vote on Friday.

Voters earlier this month in a light turnout narrowly rejected a supplemental levy for the same amount.

District officials say more voters could turn out on May 20 because it's Idaho's primary election day.

Board Chairman Carl Ericson says there's momentum in the community for the levy.

Trustee Michael Law worked against the levy in March and says he expects to work against the new levy.

He also says he's working on a district budget committee on possible school cuts.

Cuts could include staff reductions through attrition, larger class sizes, fewer school days and other changes.

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — A 31-year-old Boise man is accused of having multiple photos of children being sexually abused on his computer.

Authorities on Friday charged James Stuart Bigler with seven counts of sexual exploitation of a child.

The Idaho Statesman reports that police searched his home earlier this month and took him into custody on Thursday.

Police say there's no evidence any of the victims are local residents.

The Ada County Sheriff's Office jail roster didn't list Bigler as in inmate Sunday morning, indicating he had paid a $150,000 bond.

DISCRIMINATION COMPLAINT

Discrimination complaint filed against college

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (AP) — A vice president at the College of Southern Idaho put on paid leave until her contract expires has filed documents indicating her intention to bring a discrimination lawsuit against the school.

The Times-News reports that Edit Szanto last week filed a tort claim, a precursor to a lawsuit against a public entity.

Szanto, vice president of student services/planning and grant development, contends that CSI President Jeff Fox and others targeted her with discrimination, retaliation and unequal pay because of her gender and national origin.

Szanto and her family left Romania as political refugees and came to the United States in 1990.

In February she filed complaints with the Idaho Commission on Human Rights and the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

An attorney representing the school but confirmed the college has received the notice of the tort claim, sent to CSI's Board of Trustees.

Szanto has worked at the school for 17 years, but was placed on paid leave Jan. 2. She says she's been told she'll remain on paid leave until her contract expires on June 30.

NCAA-IDAHO-LOUISVILLE

Louisville women roll past Idaho 88-42

IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) — Sara Hammond led five players in double figures with 16 points and the third-seeded Louisville Cardinals rolled past Idaho 88-42 on Sunday in the opening round of the NCAA tournament.

Jude Schimmel had 14 points and Asia Taylor scored 13 for the Cardinals, who'll face either Marist or host Iowa in the second round on Tuesday.

Louisville shook off a sluggish start with a 28-10 run late in the first half. The Cardinals then opened the second half with 23 points in eight minutes to push their lead to 63-30.

Ali Forde had 16 points for 14th-seeded Idaho, which was outrebounded 42-23 and committed 18 turnovers.

The Vandals were back in the NCAA tournament for the second year in a row after winning both the regular season and conference tournament titles in the WAC.

Idaho even moved up two seeds from a year ago, when it was blasted by UConn 105-37.

But the Vandals haven't beaten a team from a high major conference since 2004.
