FORT PIERCE, Fla. (AP) — A man accused of killing his parents and then throwing a party with their bodies still inside their house has been ordered to spend life in prison without possibility of parole.

Authorities say Tyler Hadley killed his parents, Mary Jo and Blake Hadley, in 2011. Hadley pleaded no contest in February to two counts of first-degree murder.

Judge Robert R. Makemson in St. Lucie County actually handed Hadley two life sentences, calling the crime brutal, heinous and premeditated. Hadley couldn't receive a death sentence because he was 17 at the time of the killings.

Hadley's attorney had argued for two 30-year sentences, to be served concurrently, with a review after 20 years.

A fellow inmate has said Hadley signs autographs and refers to himself as "hammer boy" behind bars.
