TOQUERVILLE, Utah (AP) — Deputies are investigating after an older woman was found dead at a Toquerville home. Washington County deputies tell The Salt Lake Tribune authorities were told a home was burglarized and guns were stolen a little after midnight today. Authorities say she was the victim of a homicide, but haven't described how she may have died and haven't released her name.

PARK CITY, Utah (AP) — Summit County authorities are looking for whoever shot and killed a dog in its own backyard. Animal control officers say a 4-year-old black Labrador was found dead by his owners Monday evening in the Pinebrook area. Summit County Animal Control is gathering information in hopes of finding the culprit.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Two former Boy Scout leaders accused of toppling a 170 million-year-old rock formation at Utah's Goblin Valley State Park last year have pleaded guilty to misdemeanor charges. Glenn Taylor and David Hall were sentenced to probation. If they meet its requirements, the offenses will later be removed from their records.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Salt Lake County District Attorney Sim Gill announced yesterday that he's running for re-election this fall. The Democrat is in the middle of several high-profile cases, including an investigation of two of the state's former attorneys general and a wide-ranging probe of the police department in West Valley City, Utah's second-largest city.
