Christian Ivan Diaz said at sentencing yesterday that he was sorry for the New Year's Day 2013 crash that killed Jesse Hill and injured 16-year-old Anne-Marie Ricci. Diaz pleaded guilty in January to two felony DUI charges.

The Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation reported yesterday that the January jobless rate was down three-tenths of a percentage point from 9 percent in December. The department says Nevada saw its 37th month of year-over-year job growth, and has added nearly 61,000 new private sector jobs in the past three years.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — The Nevada Supreme Court is scheduling a public hearing in May on a state bar association request for rules to protect lawyers who advise clients on medical marijuana issues. The state high court says it'll also accept written comments ahead of its May 6 hearing in Carson City. The Nevada Bar Association last week cited a conflict between federal drug laws and a state medical marijuana law that takes effect April 1.
