KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia (AP) — Malaysia Airlines says it's lost contact with a large passenger jet en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing. The airline says Flight MH370 lost contact with air traffic control at 2:40 a.m. Saturday. The Boeing 777-200 aircraft. was carrying 227 passengers, including two infants, and 12 crew members.

MOSCOW (AP) — Russia is being swept up in patriotic fervor in anticipation of bringing Crimea back into its territory. Thousands of people gathered in Red Square on Friday chanting "Crimea is Russia!" Ignoring sanctions threats and warnings from the U.S., leaders of both houses of parliament say they would support a vote by Crimeans to split with Ukraine and join Russia.

WASHINGTON (AP) — U.S. employers added 175,000 jobs in February, far more than the two previous months. The modest but steady job growth came despite harsh winter weather and global crises. Although the unemployment rate rose to 6.7 percent from 6.6 percent, it wasn't all bad. More people began seeking work but most haven't yet found it.

SANTA ANA, Calif. (AP) — A 19-year-old man is charged with fatally shooting his parents and trying to kill two of his siblings inside their luxury Southern California home. Ashton Sachs, who was enrolled at a college in Washington state, is being held without bail. The shootings occurred Feb. 9 in the family's San Juan Capistrano home. Orange County police have yet to identify a motive.

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — A pregnant Florida woman and her family became ill after eating meat tainted with LSD and investigators are trying to figure out the hallucinogenic drug got into the steak which was purchased at a Wal-Mart in Tampa. Doctors induced labor and the woman had a healthy baby boy. The entire family was released from the hospital in good condition.
