LAS VEGAS (AP) — Las Vegas police say a woman in her 80s drove into a grocery store, sending nine people to hospitals.

Lt. Ken Romane tells The Associated Press that the woman lost control of her pickup truck and rammed into the front of the Food 4 Less store at Eastern and Sahara avenues just before 3 p.m. Saturday.

He says 17 people were treated for minor injuries at the scene, and nine people were taken to hospitals with moderate to serious injuries. Two were juveniles.

Romane says the driver wasn't transported for medical care and that she traveled to the back of the store, causing significant damage. He says the store will be closed for at least another day.

The traffic division is investigated the cause of the crash.
