OMAHA, Neb. (AP) - Authorities will return to an Omaha manufacturing plant Tuesday, one day after a blast killed two people, injured 10 and caused much of the building to collapse.
Key structural supports failed after the blast at the International Nutrition plant on Monday morning, and the second and third floors of the plant collapsed on top of the first floor.
Omaha Interim Fire Chief Bernie Kanger couldn't say for sure at a news conference Monday night that there had been an explosion, though workers and other witnesses described hearing an explosion.
Search-and-rescue experts removed the body of one victim on Monday, but rescuers had to suspend operations before the second victim's body could be recovered. That work will resume on Tuesday.
