Donna Kelly has 200 Appetizers for every occasion. Today she focused on New Year's Eve and some delicious retro dips with a modern twist.
This is one of the dip recipes from Donna's blog Apron Strings.
For the deviled ham:
8 ounces sliced deli ham, rough chopped (use the good stuff for this recipe)
1/4 cup plain low fat Greek yogurt, (or a little more as desired for consistency)
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper sauce
1/4 teaspoon allspice
For the appetizer:
Sweet potato chips
Thin slices of red jalapeno
Thin slices of green onion
Process ham, Greek yogurt, mustard, hot sauce, allspice in a food processor until very smooth. If the mixture is not creamy enough, add additional Greek yogurt and process again for a few seconds.
To assemble: Place sweet potato chips on a serving platter. Place about 1 teaspoon of ham mixture on top of each sweet potato. Top with one slice of jalapeno and green onion.
Makes about 24 bites.
