NEW YORK (AP) - Podcasters Joseph Fink and Jeffrey Cranor are taking their show to a new dimension: Welcome to "Welcome to Night Vale," the book edition.
Harper Perennial announced Monday that Fink and Cranor have a deal with the publisher for a novel based on their funny-scary series.
"Welcome to Night Vale," the novel, is scheduled for release in fall 2015. Harper Perennial, usually a paperback publisher, is releasing the book as a hardcover.
Since the first episode, in 2012, "Night Vale" has become one of the country's most popular podcasts. Critics have called the show a cross between Garrison Keillor's "Lake Wobegon Days" and the horror stories of Stephen King.
