OGDEN — Officers with the Ogden Metro Gang Unit are investigating a shooting that occurred Saturday night near 26th Street and Madison Avenue.

Shortly after 7:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to the area after a report of a shooting. They found a 15-year-old boy with a gunshot wound to his chest and an injury to his left arm, according to Lt. Danielle Croyle of the Ogden Police Department.

The victim, whose name has not been released, was transported to a local hospital in critical condition but has since stabilized.

"I think he's stable at this point," she said. "He's going to recover."

Detectives have identified persons of interest in the shooting but no arrests have been made. Croyle said the victim has been reluctant to cooperate with the investigation, but investigators believe the shooting was gang-related.

"Due to the victim's unwillingness to assist right now we just have limited information to follow up on," she said.
