BEIRUT (AP) - Some of the graphic scenes from deadly twin suicide bombings outside the Iranian Embassy in Beirut include a Lebanese man running in front of a burning car, army soldiers helping an man with a head wound and Red Cross workers pulling a dead body from a destroyed vehicle. The obscure Abdullah Azzam Brigades, an al-Qaida-linked group, has claimed responsibility for the carnage that killed at least 23 people, including an Iranian diplomat. The attack is one of the worst bombings to target the predominantly Shiite area in southern Beirut. The blasts hit the upscale neighborhood of Janah, a stronghold of the Iranian-backed Shiite Hezbollah group, leaving pools of blood and bodies amid burning cars on the rubble-strewn street.

Here's a gallery of images from the scene.
