ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) - The grandmother of a 15-year-old boy says he was protecting her when he was fatally shot inside her Rochester, N.Y., home last week.

Pearl Williams tells the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle ( http://on.rocne.ws/1cjN9wW) that TySean Williams rushed to her defense when two armed men forced their way into her home Nov. 6.

Police say one of the men killed the high school honor student before they both fled. Investigators have said he wasn't the intended target.

Authorities haven't released details of the shooting, but Williams says TySean pushed one of the gunmen into a cabinet before being shot.

Police have charged two Rochester men in connection with the slaying, 18-year-old Pedro Diaz and 22-year-old Taiquan Elmore. Both have pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder charges.
