ACCRA, Ghana (AP) - Ghana's president has fired his deputy communications minister after a leaked recording in which she said she wanted to make 1 million dollars.

Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama dropped Victoria Hammah from his Cabinet on Friday after the broadcast of recording of her say that she needs $1 million dollars to enable her to control people in politics.

The firing was confirmed by the minister of information and media relations, Mahama Ayariga, but she did not state any reason for the decision to sack Hammah.
