LONDON (AP) - An EasyJet flight from Hamburg to London was diverted Friday due to a security alert, but police have cleared the plane after finding no security threat.

The budget airline said the Airbus A319, carrying 151 passengers and six crew members onboard, safely landed at Stansted airport on Friday evening after it was diverted from nearby Luton Airport, its original destination.

The carrier declined to describe what had caused the diversion, only saying it was a precautionary measure.

Police say they conducted a series of security checks onboard the plane, which would continue to Luton. Police say no arrests were made and no passengers were forced to disembark.
