FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) - The Coast Guard is suspending its search for two people still missing after their Mexico-bound jet crashed into the Atlantic Ocean off South Florida.

The jet crashed Tuesday night as it tried to return to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. Two pilots, a doctor and a nurse were on board. The crew had dropped a patient off in Florida and was flying back to Cozumel, Mexico, when the pilot reported an engine failure and attempted to return to the airport.

Authorities recovered two bodies from the wreckage Tuesday night.

Lt. Cmdr. Gabe Somma said Thursday that the Coast Guard will continue to assist the National Transportation Safety Board in the investigation.
