MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Minnesota State Lottery officials say they've verified the winning Powerball ticket sold in the state and are expecting the winner to publicly come forward.
Lottery spokesman Debbie Hoffman says a news conference is planned Thursday afternoon to introduce the Minnesota winner. Two other tickets for the $448.4 million jackpot were sold in New Jersey.
Lottery officials say the winning ticket was purchased at a store in Anoka County, which includes northwest suburbs of Minneapolis.
Minnesota's winning ticket is worth a lump sum of $86 million, or $58.3 million after taxes. It's worth $149.4 million if the winner chooses the 30-year annuity option.
This is Minnesota's 22nd Powerball jackpot winner. The state record was a ticket sold in 2011 to a couple from Burnsville who chose the $123.6 million cash option.
