BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (AP) - An Argentine human rights group says DNA tests have determined the identity of a 109th person who was among those taken as babies from victims of Argentina's dictatorship.
The group Grandmothers of the Plaza de Mayo says the real family of 37-year-old Pablo German Athanasiu Laschan is in Chile.
The group says his birth mother did land reform work for Chile's Marxist President Salvador Allende and the family fled after the 1973 coup that toppled Allende. It says that once Argentina was taken over by dictators in 1976, the parents were grabbed by Argentine government agents and killed as part of the "dirty war" against leftists.
The rights group's statement Wednesday does not identify the adoptive parents, but says the father is awaiting trial for alleged rights violations.
