The lake trout or mackinaw, is popular sport fish that has been introduced into some of Utah's large, cold-water lakes including Flaming Gorge Reservoir, where the current state record laker was caught in 1988 recorded at 51 lb 8 ounces. But, just a few weeks ago, the Wyoming Game and fish caught and released, this 52 pound lake trout in a net near swim beach that would be the lake trout record for both Wyoming and Utah.
