SALT LAKE CITY — A new Google Chrome experiment turns your phone and laptop into a virtual Skee-ball game, allowing you to waste as much time as you want without having to pay for the arcade version of the game.

Google unveiled the interactive game on Wednesday. "Roll It" links your phone to your computer via Wi-Fi, allowing players to use their phones as controllers, assuming Chrome has been downloaded.

To play, visit Chrome Roll It on your computer and g.co/rollit on your phone. Follow the directions to sync your phone to your computer.

Once connected, the game allows you to tilt your phone to adjust your aim. The harder your swing, the further the ball will go (unless you actually let go of your phone and embarrass yourself). Multiple levels adjust the game's configuration, making it more difficult to aim for easy points.

Up to three people can play at once, using a single smartphone. Some users have noted experiencing lag time between "releasing" the ball and seeing it appear on the screen, or have been unable to get their phones to sync. Using the Chrome browser on a decent Wi-Fi connection appeared to solve those problems, though.
