I have been spending a lot of time with people who have serious relationship issues. These people are very smart and intellectual, and yet they can't get their relationships to work. Apparently having a high IQ is not necessarily a good indicator of success in life. EQ, or Emotional Quota, is a better indicator of a successful life. Meaning, are you somebody that recognizes your own emotions? Can you see your own mood? Do you recognize emotions in others so you know when to shut your mouth? Are you somebody who knows how to lower your own emotions and control your emotions so you don't freak out on somebody? Or do you know how to lower the emotions of somebody else? These skills, or gifts, are what we call Emotional Intelligence. I believe that sometimes we are totally missing the mark when it comes to relationships.
