DEARBORN, Mich. (AP) -- Another big recall by Ford. It's calling back more than 262-thousand Ford Escape S-U-V's to repair a defect in the rear gate. The government says the move by Ford covers 2001 to 2005 models whose rear lift gate could open during a crash.
In addition, the Detroit Free Press reports almost 50-thousand Mazda Tributes are being recalled for the same thing. The Tribute is similar to the Escape.
Ford recalled more than 470-thousand 2002 to 2004 Escapes earlier this month because of a possible accelerator problem.
