SALT LAKE CITY — Children who grow up in the foster care system have to do so faster than most kids their age. Still, they are just kids, and this week's Wednesday's Child hasn't let her circumstances change her bright personality.
In a stable full of horses, 13-year-old Alisia is right at home. She's gentle, but isn't intimidated by the animals.

Like many other seventh-grade girls, Alisia has Bieber fever. But unlike most of her peers, she has had to grow up very fast.
What Alisia wants is a family. "Someone that likes me, and [won't] be rude to me," she said.
Age: 13
Birthday: 10/1997
Grade in School: 7th
Special Interests: Playing games, reading books and listening to music.
"So You Think You Can Dance" just may be in Alisia's future. As creative as can be, this adolescent loves to choreograph dance moves and perform them for others to see. Being outgoing with a charming personality makes this young woman stand out in a crowd. Others are often drawn to her delightful smile. Alisia said this about herself, "I'm a pretty girl."
Alisia is up for adoption. She's currently in foster care but is looking for a permanent home. She's vibrant, loves to sing and dance, excels at math, and loves animals — including horses.
She says her challenges in life have taught her a lot. "I learned that it's better to have faith than be a jerk," she said.
And if someone is thinking about making Alisia a part of their family, she wants them to know a few things: "I'm a great big love person, and I love people that are nice to me, and I love Justin Bieber," she says.
