Wouldn't spending the holidays in Vienna be wonderful? Well, you might not be able to make it to Vienna for Christmas this year. But you can still get a taste of Vienna right here in Salt Lake City, at Frody Volgger's Vienna Bistro. Vienna Bistro is open weekdays downtown on Main Street for lunch and dinner and brunch on the weekends, but Austrian owner and chef Frody Volgger has two very special dinners planned for the holidays.

Christmas Eve dinner at the Vienna Bistro is popular with families who show up every year to indulge in Frody's Austrian-influenced fare. This year he'll be featuring lobster bisque and Waldorf salad followed by an entrée of goose with roasted chestnuts or house-smoked Berkshire ham. Garlic mashed spuds, purple cabbage with apples and cinnamon, and homemade Christmas stollen will round out the Christmas Eve menu, which is priced at $50 per person.

For their New Year's Eve dinner Vienna Bistro will offer a spread that includes smoked salmon roll, beef tartare canapé, Belgian endive salad, Beef Wellington with a black truffle demi-glace, and a New Year's chocolate cream roll. For New Year's Eve dinner at Vienna Bistro is $65 per person - a relative bargain for pricy New Year's Eve dining.

Yup, for less than the price of a Viennese hotel room for one night, you can spend both Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve in Vienna, at Frody Volgger's Vienna Bistro.
