The movie, "Saints and Soldiers: Airborne Creed" opened in select theaters in Utah and other surrounding states on August 17. The action film has strong LDS ties.
The film focuses on the mission of a parachute combat team that jumped into the south of France into Nazi territory in 1944. Actor Jasen Wade plays Bud Curtis a fearless LDS member who played a key role in the mission.
In 2004, Curtis was one of two veterans from the 517th chosen to receive France's highest award, " The Legion of Honor". The movie chronicles the challenging experiences this unit went through.
