I got the call Saturday morning that Amanda was not feeling well and would not be able to do her commercial remote for Utah's Own products at Dick's Market in Bountiful. There was a bit of confusion over which Dick's Market we would be at. I was a little hazy when I answered the phone because I don't usually get up that early even during the week and there's nothing more obnoxious than waking up to the phone ringing. I'd change the ring tone on my cell phone, but I think some of those custom rings are a little silly and secondly and most important, I have no idea how. Anyway the confusion was quickly cleared up once I gained consciousness and I was happy to go to the Dick's on Orchard Drive to do the remote. I have to say the folks at Dick's and the people who were there for Seal Sama teriyaki sauces and Colosimo were all very nice to me even though I'm sure they were expecting Amanda. I don't blame them, I don't look nearly as good as she doesn't even after I've showered and shaved.

The remote went very well I thought. But alot of people came in looking for Amanda. She has her "groupies" and I say that in the nicest way. People love to see her and want to talk to her. I have no groupies and if I did they would probably only include my mother and my dog Buddy, and mom's iffy. Many people who came hoping to see Amanda wanted her to sign her new book which they all carried lovingly. They all asked "where's Amanda?" When I told them she was sick and I was filling in there was a look of disappointment somewhat like a Colorado Rockies fan on Sunday night. Despite my offer to sign the book for Amanda, they all said no and I told them I was sure Amanda would be out at another remote soon. I went home and took a nap.
