This is Chris Redgrave for Zions Bank Speaking on Business.

The Larry H. Miller Group of Companies was formed in 1979 with the purchase of a single auto dealership and has since grown into one of the largest privately-owned companies in the nation. It includes 75 businesses. Larry Miller entered the sports arena with his purchase of the Utah Jazz in 1985.

Do you realize the Utah Jazz has been in 24 of the last 28 NBA playoffs? Gail Miller and her son, Greg, are continuing the legacy and the traditions that Larry H. Miller started with his companies years ago of building a team this community would be proud of. The ongoing success of the Utah Jazz can be attributed to many people and influences, especially the culture. From the consistency of great ownership, to long-term stability, the franchise is built upon success created by head coaches such as Frank Layden, Jerry Sloan and Tyrone Corbin. Outstanding Hall-of-Famers like John Stockton and Karl Malone are also contributing factors.

As a fairly young NBA franchise city it's unbelievable to have witnessed the talents we have. In speaking with President Randy Rigby, he says the Utah Jazz is always evolving and you don't want to miss this year's team because they're young and energetic with emerging talent.

The Utah Jazz has an outreach with their Junior Jazz basketball program that spans five Western States and works with 60,000 youth players, making it the largest in the United States. The ongoing impact of the Utah Jazz is to work with our rural areas and find talents like Jeremy Evans, the winner of the slam dunk contest who, by the way, now works for the Utah Jazz.

For Zions Bank, I'm Chris Redgrave, speaking on business.
