This is Chris Redgrave for Zions Bank Speaking on Business.
I recently had one of the most delicious pastries I've ever tasted, right here in Salt Lake City. This is a kouign (queen) amann (ah-man), and it's available Monday through Saturdays at Tony Caputo's Market in Salt Lake City. Jeff and Lya Becnel, owners of Les Bec's Private Gourmet Experience which produces the pastries, say it takes three days to make them, and once you try one, you'll understand why.
These chefs and owners make their pastries using as many premium local ingredients as possible with the rest coming from Europe. One of the best parts is the pastry with the rich Chocolate Ganache made with cocoa beans from Venezuela and prepared in Italy.
These chefs have an impressive background and are hoping to use their experience not only to sell delicious pastries but also to bring a gourmet meal to your home with Les Bec's Private Gourmet Experience. This is where they will come to your house and prepare a European-style meal with five or more courses for up to 12 people.
You won't believe the experience Les Bec's Private Gourmet Experience brings to the table. Both received their culinary training at some of the most prestigious schools in the world, Jeff at the Culinary Institute of America in New York City and Lya at Le Cordon Bleu in London. Originally from Mexico, Lya worked for several years to save up enough money to go to culinary school. As a little girl, she was inspired by a beautiful culinary creation she saw on the cover of a cooking magazine.
She and Jeff met when they were both chefs at the Grand America Hotel several years ago. After their marriage they spent several years completing stage (stah-jeh), an internship where they traveled around Europe for several years learning from some of the best chefs in the world. They came back to Utah last year and started Les Bec's Private Gourmet Experience.
As one of the best cities to do business globally, Salt Lake City is a great place to launch Les Bec's Private Gourmet Experience.
For Zions Bank, I'm Chris Redgrave, speaking on business.
