NEW YORK, Mar 28, 2006 (UPI via COMTEX) -- A couple of Hollywood heavyweights are attached to a film based on "How Starbucks Saved My Life," even though the book hasn't been written yet.

Actor Tom Hanks and director Gus Van Sant are reportedly in line for the film based on a book by Michael Gates Gill about what happened after his advertising agency job was eliminated, Daily Variety reported Tuesday.

Penguin's Gotham Books will publish the memoir when it is finished and Universal Pictures has acquired the rights to it for a sum reported to be in the six-figure range.

Gill's story will tell how he lost his job and his marriage while in his 60's and in the midst of a personal tailspin, entered a Starbucks and left with a job offer and a new purpose in life, Variety said.
