NEW YORK, Mar 27, 2006 (UPI via COMTEX) -- Dana Reeve, who died of lung cancer earlier this month, will be seen giving the introduction to a medical documentary on PBS TV stations.

"The New Medicine," scheduled to air this week, was the last professional engagement for Christopher Reeve's widow before her death March 6, People magazine reported Monday. The show was taped last year.

The documentary explores how doctors are now using a mixture of holistic and traditional medicine to treat disease.

"Your emotional state has a tremendous amount to do with sickness, health and well-being," Reeve said in her introduction. "For years, my husband and I lived on -- and because of -- hope. Hope continues to give me the mental strength to carry on."
