Baghdad Burning, a blog detailing a young woman's life in war-torn Iraq has been nominated for BBC Four's Samuel Johnson Prize for non-fiction. The computer diary written under the pseudonym Riverbend is one of 19 nominees on a list that also includes Alan Bennett's biography of 19th Century cook Mrs Beeton, Untold Stories. The winner of the $51,000 (GBP30,000) literary prize - which has been previously awarded to biographer Jonathan Coe and Australian author Anna Funder - will be announced on 14 June (06).
