NEW YORK, Mar 10, 2006 (UPI via COMTEX) -- Four-time Tony winner Angela Lansbury prepared for her return to the New York stage Friday in a benefit performance of "Oscar and the Lady in Pink."
The show, which runs through Sunday at Geffen Playhouse's Audrey Skirball Kenis Theater, is a work-in-progress based on the novella by Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt, Playbill.com reported.
Lansbury plays Granny Rose, a woman who helps a 10-year-old cancer victim who lives in the hospital, Playbill said.
Lansbury won her Tony Awards for "Sweeney Todd," "Gypsy," "Dear World" and "Mame."
Tickets to "Oscar and the Lady in Pink" are $100 and will benefit the Geffen Playhouse's educational outreach programs.
