PRIDE AND PREJUDICE author JANE AUSTEN's real-life love story is set to hit the big screen in forthcoming film BECOMING JANE.
The British screenplay will tell the story of Austen's doomed love for Irish lawyer TOM LeFROY, which floundered because LeFroy's economic prospects were much lower than Austen's own family's.
The brief affair reportedly inspired her career as one of the world's most romantic writers and prompted the themes of love and social classes which played a prominent part in many Austen novels.
The novelist will be portrayed by THE PRINCESS DIARIES star ANNE HATHAWAY in the forthcoming drama, with veteran actress DAME MAGGIE SMITH and HARRY POTTER's JULIE WALTERS also taking leading roles. (AS/WNSTI/JB)
