This is Chris Redgrave for Zions Bank Speaking on Business.
Operating a business "in the cloud" is one of the hottest trends today. It's no wonder since cloud computing saves customers $12.3 billion off their energy bills alone, also think about the savings to infrastructure and operating costs.
CEO Paul Jarman with his company inContact in Salt Lake City is smart to use this business model because it allows him to pass significant savings on to his clients. InContact helps call centers around the globe create more profitable customer experiences using cloud-based call center routing, self service and agent optimization solutions. They provide the software, tools and technology to improve the cost and quality of the customer experience. This helps call centers to operate more efficiently, improve each customer interaction and create new profit margins that ensure ongoing customer-focused business improvement and growth.
Paul says the key to cloud computing is building a revenue base strong enough to cover expenses and to create a recurring revenue stream. As one of the highest flying sectors of the economy, he says it's not going anywhere anytime soon so the need to perform is great.
As with any new technology, of course there are going to be those who will question how long it will be around, if it's effective and if it's secure. Where security is concerned, Paul says inContact has great security and other established processes to protect their clients. Since they specialize in cloud computing, it's in their best interest. And in Paul's opinion, it's safer than it would be with traditional IT.
In June of this year inContact announced a strategic partnership with global unified communications leader Siemens Enterprise Communications. This is a big since Siemens will now be the exclusive master distributor for the inContact cloud software portfolio in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. They will also be reselling the software in the U.S., Asia Pacific and Latin America.
By the way, inContact is a publicly-traded company under SAAS which stands for the cloud. They found out it was available and secured it. Now that's a cloud-based company.
For Zions Bank, I'm Chris Redgrave, speaking on business.
