Here's another successful Utah-based company that is family owned and operated. The Green Tea HP Company in Lehi has connected around personal and professional values that drive the Hendrix family to be known for producing the best drink in the business.
Company president and CEO Roger Hendrix, Jr. started trying to develop a tasty product that he would give up his Diet Coke for. He discovered that green tea is the No. 1 source of polyphenols, or the chemical compounds found in fruits and vegetables.
Once he understood the health properties of green tea, he went into product design with his team to come up with just the right drink. And the success of his effort can be seen in the phenomenal growth of the company. Green Tea HP is taking off in the United States with new locations in Idaho, but the international push is underway in Canada and Dubai.
Part of the reason for this company's success is the combination of properties that gives Green Tea HP the boost people are looking for. As a person consumes the drink, they're less likely to want carbonated beverages. The product has a loyal following since those who find it generally stick with it. Some even discover it has weight loss benefits.
This five-year-old company has come together with a passion for health and wellness, and they're committed to a product they feel helps with that. They're concerned with some of the recent health trends with cancer, obesity and chronic diseases. According to the National Cancer Society as much as 75 percent of cancer deaths in the U.S. are caused by lifestyle choices. Eating more healthfully and living an active lifestyle are critical to buck this trend.
Roger and his team feel like they've created a product that can help. He's made it a point to surround himself with talent, even bringing on a product specialist to continue advancing Green Tea HP and has tried to create a work culture where the staff can feel they're helping the company to be successful.
