Well, I believe this morning I had the greatest revelation of my life or found the best scam in the world. I was on the bus this morning heading to our workplace, when I got thinking about... of all things... my laundry. I had just had it washed and picked it up the night before. I smelled clean... felt clean... it was a good day so far. Then I got thinking about how much I paid... 50 Euros. In American dollars that’s about 60 bucks. Now, you would of thought I had my entire wardrobe washed and pressed, but in actuality it was one pair of jeans, three t-shirts, four pairs of socks, four undershirts and four pairs of underwear (a little too personal I know, but obviously relevant to my story). And, it was only washed. That’s 16-20 articles of clothing depending on how you want to count my socks. So, breaking down the numbers... that’s 3-4 dollars per item. That my friends... is either the best money making job in the world or the best scam this side of Europe. The best part to all of this... it takes 2-3 days to get your clothes back! This isn’t speedy service by any means. They are certainly taking their precious time. I have to admit, it’s the first time my underwear has ever been returned to me on a hanger. But, I’m not sure it’s worth the extra dough I’m dishing out. Adam (photographer) and I actually contemplated buying new clothes instead of getting our old ones washed because it was actually cheaper. Nonetheless we took out second mortgages on our homes and forked over the necessary cash. And, folks this is the second time I’ve paid to have my clothes cleaned. In all I’ve spent well over $100 on two small loads of clothes. Oh yeah and we have 11 days left. And, after all this whining... I just turned in another load. Eh... it’s the Olympics.
