SALT LAKE CITY -- The 2010 International Hot Rod Association World Champion stopped by KSL Wednesday morning to talk about this weekend's Nitro Jam series.
The professional drag racing series returns to Salt Lake City after setting an attendance record last year.
Champion Chris Hall, from Brigham City, will begin to defend his title.
A spokesperson for the event tells KSL 5 this year's event will be the biggest race yet with multiple nitro classes, including:
- 320 mile per hour Top Fuel Dragsters
- The biggest Nitro Funny Car competition of the year
- Insane Nostalgia Fuel Altereds
- A huge show featuring the car-crunching, fire-breathing Megasaurus
- The "Battle of the Monster Trucks" between the world famous Grave Digger monster truck and the 30,000 horsepower Shockwave jet semi.
The series runs Friday, June 17 and Saturday, June 18 at Rocky Mountain Raceways. Tickets start at $25 if purchased in advance and can be found online at www.nitrojam.com or by calling 801-252-9557.
