This is Chris Redgrave for Zions Bank Speaking on Business.
When faced with an imminent and unexpected change to your business, you have two choices. You can choose to fight the change or you can choose to accept it and use it as a means to build up your business. That's what Brent Marshall and John-david Brewer decided a few years ago when they found their business at a crossroads.
Salt Lake City was buying the block where their media production facility was located. So, they chose to see their move as an opportunity to reinvent their business from a traditional platform to corporate digital media. So Metropolis Integrated Media became Metcom Studios. A visit to their stunning state-of-the art studio on 500 East in Salt Lake City shows what a wise move this was.
Metcom Studios is Utah's newest resource for leading-edge creativity and development of digital media. They're a full-service production company with all the creative and strategic resources, including writers, video editors, audio engineers, directors and animators in a building nearly twice the size of the old facility.
With their 15 full-time employees they're really putting Utah on the map since a good share of their clients come from out of state. They focus on corporate product and training videos, direct response TV spots, national voiceover services telephony (tuh-lef-a-knee) IVR audio, commercial production and now music recording. Metcom Studios is a great example of why Utah is first for our technology concentration and dynamism and first for our competitive environment.
This company's reach doesn't end in the United States. Metcom Global, on the second floor of the building, was created to address the growing need for corporate foreign language voiceover work. Currently they have over 400 English-speaking voice talents and 30 different languages. They can translate training videos or audiobooks into a variety of languages for clients that include Chevron, Tahitian Noni and Microsoft. They're also equipped to provide production with American Sign Language.
Metcom Studios will continue to be well-known for their strategic planning, their creative account planning and their stellar production.
